Yom HaShoah יום השואה
Sunday, May 1, 2011
Today we will join others around the world to remember the Holocaust — Yom HaShoah.
We will Never Forget.
We remember by watching documentaries of the time and teaching our children about our ancestors in recent history. The Holocaust was only about 70 years ago!

Can you bear to remember?
Don't let the memories of the events die out with the last of the survivors!

Just wanted to mention (and I had forgotten this, too!), in a weird "didn't you get the memo?" moment, at the instruction of the Israeli rabbinate, Jews around the world are mostly observing Yom Hashoah on Monday. This is done to avoid Shabbat desecration by holding ceremonies on Saturday evening that would need setup before sunset. Ditto for Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut next week or the week after (I forget which).
Just thought I'd mention it!
You bring up a good question..."can you bear to remember?" It is not comprehendable to consider what these people experienced during the holocaust.
Thank you for bringing it to people minds.
Shalom.
